Kings defenceman Rylan Ball has been named BCHL Player of the Week, thanks to a three-goal and four-assist week over 4 wins against Alberni Valley and Nanaimo. Ball was also named 1st star of the game in Wednesday’s win against the Bulldogs when he also scored the game winner.
Carter Turnbull was named an honourable mention for a 4-2-6 week where he also earned 1st, 2nd and 3rd star honours across the 4 games.

Powell River Kings defenceman Rylan Ball has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 3, the league announced Monday.
Ball led all Kings scorers with seven points from the blueline and helped the team to four wins in as many attempts. Overall, the hometown Powell River product notched three goals, two of them game-winners, and added four helpers. Ball had the decisive overtime tally in a 2-1 home victory against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs where he was named 1st Star and followed that with another goal in a 5-0 win over the ‘Dogs. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound rearguard had an assist in a 3-1 win over the Nanaimo Clippers but capped his week with a goal and three assists in an 8-4 triumph over the Clips.
With seven goals and 19 assists on the season, Ball leads all Kings defencemen with 26 points.
