The Kings are excited to announce the signing of twenty year old forward Rhett Hamilton.

Hamilton is from Bonnington Falls which is located in the Kootenays between Nelson and Castlegar, and he brings 132 games of junior experience with him to Powell River. Most recently Hamilton was playing in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the Melfort Mustangs. This season he had 2 assists in 6 games and collected 19 points in 46 total games overall in Melfort. Last season the Mustangs were SJHL champions and went all the way to the Centennial Cup finals. Hamilton had 6 points in the 16 SJHL playoff games and he put up an assist in 6 games at the national championship.

“Rhett will bring a winning and competitive mentality to our dressing room” says General Manager Stephan Seeger Jr. “he had a lot of success in the SJHL with Melfort, winning the league last year and had a nice run in the centennial cup. He is a fearless workhorse who does what it takes to help his team win.”

Prior to joining Melfort, Hamilton played 42 games for the Trail Smoke Eaters during the 2022-23 season. He is expected to make his Kings debut against his former team on Tuesday at the BCHL Showcase. Game time is 1pm from the Abbotsford Centre.
