Preview: Kings welcome Prince George for only time this season

The Powell River Kings (22-16-1-0) play the Prince George Spruce Kings (18-14-2-2) at the Hap Parker Arena for the only time this season Friday night at 7:15.

The Kings finished off 2016 with a 4-1 win over the Nanaimo Clippers December 30, ending a four-game losing streak. Carmine Buono made his return to the Kings lineup for the first time since March of 2015 and recorded two assists.

Prince George meanwhile is coming off back-to-back overtime wins over the Langley Rivermen at home last weekend. It was the first time in two years the Spruce Kings had won a game in overtime.

This is the second and final meeting of the 2016-17 season between the Kings and Spruce Kings, the only other matchup occurred nearly four months ago. October 16 the Kings wrapped up a three-game swing with a 1-0 win over Prince George at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. Mitch Adamyk recorded the 51-save shutout, the first of his BCHL career.
